Is the Blackberry Pearl Too Small?

I was finally able to get hold of a Blackberry Pearl to mess with for a few hours.  I have a soft spot for the Blackberry, as I had one for most of 2003.  Anyhow, I was able to help someone set the unit up on their computer so they can sync with outlook. Here's what I found...  Initially, out of the box, it's quite a bit smaller than any other Blackberry made, or the Treo or even the Blackjack.   The software that came with it for syncing, is pretty much exactly the same software I had in 2003 when I owned a BB.  It loaded quickly and effortlessly. They always had nice software.   I plugged in the device when I was told to, and wow, it synced perfectly the first time. No issues.   Mail began trickling in after setting up the mail account.  My only complaint is that it is too small to be practical.  If you are going to be primarily using it to read emails only, it might be ok, provided you can see small type reasonably well.  If you are going to be a heavy user, then I think the buttons are too small, and the screen may be unuseable, especially in certain lighting conditions.  Perhaps it's good for Munchkins, or maybe elves.  I was thinking of getting one for my garden gnome.  "Hello jeff?  This is your garden gnome...you know the one behind the hydrangea bush.. anyhow...can you water this thing?  I'd do it myself, but I'm made of plaster and I'm not very flexible... thanks".  -=Jeff Gross=-

Couldn't agree more. This

Couldn't agree more. This thing is best suited for children and extremely small adults. I'm going to let my leprauchan do my typing for me.

Uggghhhh

I know this comment is 2 years late but I must let out my frustrations on the Blackberry Pearl 8100. Texting shouldn't be a feature on this phone because it's NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. I just started having this problem after having the phone for a year, (perhaps my fingers got fatter), but I cannot type a text message without goofing up every other word! I always end up hitting the wrong button or something like that cuz the buttons are too DAMN SMALL! I'm a victim of the economy and cannot afford a new phone based on this problem, but the frustration it causes me at times may sufice!!!!!!!!
